
Steve Riggs is the founder and head coach of SoCal Baseball Academy, bringing years of experience developing young athletes throughout Southern California. Coach Riggs has coached at the high school level, currently serving as a varsity assistant coach at St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge, and previously as the head coach at Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills.
Throughout his coaching career, Riggs has worked with players at the youth, high school, and travel ball levels, helping athletes develop both the fundamentals of the game and the mindset needed to compete at a high level. His coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, disciplined practice habits, and building confident players who compete with integrity.
At SoCal Baseball Academy, Coach Riggs focuses on teaching the complete game of baseball — from mechanics and situational awareness to leadership and teamwork. His goal is to create an environment where players can grow, compete, and develop a lifelong love for the game while preparing for the next level.

Shaun Kort serves as the head baseball coach at St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge and brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to SoCal Baseball Academy. Prior to St. Francis, Kort was the head coach at Calabasas High School and spent nearly a decade as an assistant coach at Harvard-Westlake, one of the premier high school baseball programs in Southern California.
As a player, Kort was a standout at El Camino Real High School, where he earned City Player of the Year honors while helping lead the team to a championship season. He later played college baseball at the University of Nevada.
Coach Kort is widely respected for his ability to develop hitters and help players understand the mental side of the game. His approach emphasizes preparation, competitive toughness, and attention to detail. At SoCal Baseball Academy, he works closely with players to build advanced skills while teaching the values of teamwork, accountability, and dedication that define successful athletes.
